A new state-of-the-art dialysis centre has been set up in Riffa, Bahrain, providing equitable and affordable access to the services of the well-established Bahrain Specialist Hospital Nephrology & Hypertension Center of Excellence at Juffair.
 
Situated at Bahrain Specialist Hospital - Riffa Clinic, the dialysis centre caters to patients suffering from kidney ailments, as well as end-stage kidney failure.
 
Bahrain Specialist Hospital Managing Director Dr Kasim O Ardati commented: “Patients requiring dialysis cannot travel long distances; till now, they had to make the journey from Riffa to our main facility in Juffair. With the opening of our new Outpatient Dialysis Center, we can now extend our expertise in treating dialysis patients of Riffa and surrounding areas.”
 
The dialysis centre, having four private dialysis stations, is staffed by experienced dialysis nurses and certified chronic hemodialysis technicians working under the supervision of dedicated consultant nephrologists. Doctors are also available to see patients with kidney diseases, hypertension, and internal medicine problems.
 
To mark the launch of the dialysis centre, Bahrain Specialist Hospital is offering a special chronic kidney disease screening package which includes a blood pressure check, urine test, creatinine test and consultation with the nephrologist.
