YANBU — Director of Education in Yanbu Muhammad Al-Oqaibi has urged educational officials and school principals to ensure utmost security and safety in the school environment for students and the staff to protect them from all possible dangers.
Al-Oqaibi directed school officials to refrain from overloading power lines by using too many electrical appliances at the same time. He also urged them to limit the use of extension cords and chargers.
Al-Oqaibi warned them against plugging too many electrical devices to the same connection to prevent fire. He also urged them to limit the use of refrigerators and water boiling devices to the kitchens only.
The officials emphasized the importance of not using flammable materials like candles and matches inside schools.
At the same time, the department of security and safety at the education department in Yanbu, in cooperation with the Civil Defense, executed a training program for high school students on how to use fire extinguishers.
Students also received a quick overview on how fire trucks operate.
The program targeted 350 students in order to train them on how to deal with a fire emergency. The Civil Defense officials also trained the students on safe evacuation methods from school in case of a fire and how to follow instructions.
The head of safety and security at Yanbu education department, Abdullah Al-Sinani, said such programs were part of a plan to educate students on how to quickly act in case of emergencies and the measures to be taken to prevent loss of life.
