The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has launched a campaign to inspect on food establishments, especially confectionery shops involved in the preparation and sale of sweets, pastries, roasteries, bakeries, confectionery factories, chocolate factories and popular kitchens in various regions of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

The campaign ahead of Eid Al Fitr aims to ensure the safety of food products handled in these establishments, which typically experience a surge in consumer demand during Eid.

ADAFSA is intensifying field visits and inspection campaigns to these food establishments to ensure that they comply with health and food safety standards and provide safe and healthy food that guarantees the well-being and safety of all members of the community.

The inspection campaigns aim to detect and correct any incorrect practices and ensure that during the preparation, making, storage, display and transportation processes these establishments apply the best practices that prevent contamination of these products, especially cross-contamination with workers and equipment.

Moreover, the inspection campaigns focus on raising awareness among the owners of these establishments and their employees about the importance of storing food items at appropriate temperatures and preparing them properly to ensure that safe food reaches all consumers and promote food safety requirements.

On this occasion, ADAFSA urges the public to quickly report any observations on food products or improper cooking practices by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government Call Centre on 800555. It also advises people to avoid buying from unlicensed sources.
