Cairo –  The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued the third edition of the regulations for mobile wallet payment services.

Under the regulations, the daily limit for withdrawals and transfers via mobile wallets is EGP 30,000 for individuals and informal micro-enterprises or self-employed craftsmen and EGP 40,000 for licensed micro-enterprises, according to a report released by the CBE.

The monthly limit for withdrawals and transfers via mobile wallets is EGP 100,000 for individuals and informal micro-enterprises or self-employed craftsmen and EGP 200,000 for licensed micro-enterprises.

Only individuals are allowed to receive transfers denominated in foreign currencies from abroad and add them to the mobile wallet in the Egyptian pound.
