ArabFinance: Egypt came in the 117th place out of 180 countries in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2020, according to a report by Transparent CDN.
The country has returned to the same position it had reportedly occupied in 2017.
In 2020 report, Egypt deteriorated by 11 places from being the 106th in 2019. The country scored 33 out of 100 last year, down from 35 a year earlier.
The Corruption Perceptions Index offers an annual snapshot of the relative degree of corruption by ranking countries and territories from all over the globe, according to Transparency International.
Last August, President Abdel Fattah el Sisi ratified a decree that allowed Egypt to join the African Union Convention on Combating and Preventing Corruption.
