Riyadh: The official spokesman for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), Major Mohammad Al-Nujaidi, has stated that the security follow-up of drug smuggling and promotion networks targeting the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its youth resulted in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 4,693,000 amphetamine pills hidden in two shipments of sanitary ware through Jeddah Islamic Port, in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.

The recipient of the shipments, a Jordanian national, was arrested in Jeddah Governorate. Preliminary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the Public Prosecution.
