Nasser Behzad told the Islamic Republic News Agency on Wednesday that the value of the Iranian exports to the neighboring state showed a two percent increase compared to the figure for corresponding period last year.
Iran’s share in the Iraqi market registered a 2.8 percent rise in value, given existence of goods with high value added among Iran’s exported items, he said
Most of the exported items to Iraq included parts of steam turbines with a 302 percent increase, plastic sheets with 285 percent, pastries with 61 percent and light industrial oil with 139 percent, Behzad said.
Major exported items include saffron, gas meters, treadmills, shrimp, trailers and tractors, he said.
Some 66 percent of Iran’s total exports are shipped to China, Iraq, the UAE, South Korea and Afghanistan with Iraq being the second major destination for Iranian exports.
