ABU DHABI, 23rd May, 2014 (WAM)--The truth about perception being reality can only be owned by individuals or entities with the ability to truly understand the interdependence between the two aspects and how this can lead to a holistic outcome.

"The UAE has, time after time, shown itself to be the proud owner of this truth, as it seamlessly melds performance with projection. As a result of this, endorsements from global bodies for its integrity of purpose have been constant companions to its growth," said UAE local English language daily, Gulf News, in its editorial on Friday.

It added that the latest accolade from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), a top-ranked global business school in Switzerland that tracks performances of 60 economies globally, placed the UAE at the top of the charts for its efficient governance, strongest decision-making and the lightest bureaucracy.

These attributes, as evidenced by history, the paper continued, are more conspicuous by their absence rather than presence in many countries. It also retained its overall eighth position in the competitiveness ranking.

It noted that "The UAE has consistently displayed a great affinity for these attributes by according governance its correct purpose and decision-making its logical nature. It has conclusively established that the term ?lightest bureaucracy? is not a paradox, a burden many countries in the world cannot rid themselves of."The ranking, extensive in its scope, subjected countries to 300 criteria two thirds of which were based on statistical indicators and one-third on an exclusive survey of 4,300 international executives. It is obvious that the executives who participated from the UAE have been the unambiguous advocates of the country?s commitment to the highest form of governance and robust decision-making to promote a public service workforce that takes pride in its performance.

The paper underlined that it is a proud moment for the UAE and the credit, deservedly, has been given to every member of the UAE government?s team by Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

It concluded that the secret behind UAE?s consistent ability to grab the world?s attention for its pace-setting performance was revealed by Sheikh Mohammad when he spoke of the real meaning of competitiveness: "It needs to be a constant propellant and not an occasional exercise. Knowing the difference is what makes the UAE a constant winner."
