Abu Dhabi: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) general index dropped 3.08 per cent on Sunday supported by a 9.19 per cent plunge in Arabtec shares, which led to the index reaching 5,138.86.

Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) index dropped 1.18 per cent to reach 4,988.08.

Arabtec stocks represented over 20 per cent of trade and ended the day at a share price of Dh6.13.

Other movers on the DFM included Air Arabia, which dropped 6.33 per cent, and Emaar whose share price decreased 1.97 per cent in value to end at Dh9.95.

Dubai Islamic Bank, however, rose 0.13 per cent.

In the capital, Eshraq Properties ended the day with the greatest change at a 9.80 decline in volume, Aldar Properties dropped 6.05 per cent while Waha Capital went down 5.88 per cent. Dana Gas also dropped 5.56 per cent.

Of the 31 stocks traded on DFM, 23 went down, six went up, and two remained unchanged. Of the 34 stocks traded on ADX, 25 declined, six advanced, and three remained flat.
