Dubai - General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence, has directed all entities involved in the UAE Housing Programme to start the necessary preparations including the infrastructure for the project.
The project is aimed at ensuring that UAE nationals have suitable housing facilities and better standards of living.
The Crown Prince of Dubai has reviewed the housing plan for Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Programme under which 10,000 residential units will be built for UAE nationals at a total cost of Dh10 billion.
Khalfan Hareb, General Manager of Dubai Ruler's Court and Head of the Committee, said: "Shaikh Mohammed has given directives to build modern housing units to meet the social and economic needs of UAE nationals. We will start accepting the applications from UAE nationals who wish to benefit from the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Programme beginning July 4. Applications will be accepted at the Customer Service Centre of Emaar properties located on Shaikh Zayed Road."
He said that building these housing units reflects Shaikh Mohammed's desire to provide UAE nationals with a high standard of living that is in line with their Islamic and traditional identity. The housing units will include mosques, social and cultural utilities, shopping malls, and public parks. He also said that the project will welcome any Government projects who wish to help and support UAE nationals.
According to Hareb, the Committee has conducted extensive studies on the project's plan. He also said that Dubai Municipality has provided the site plan for the project which indicates ideal locations. These locations include Al Warqa'a 4 which will have 523 plots of land with an estimated area of 7000-10,000 square feet, Oud Al Mateena 1, which will have 942 plots of land with an area of 10,000 square feet and another 5500-7000 plots of land in Jebel Ali area.

The project will be a combination of modern architecture and the traditional style of UAE houses. In addition, all financial issues and purchase contracts have been assigned to Amlak; a financing company.
