Kuwait, May 27 (KUNA) --

1991 -- His Highness late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues decree by law 6/91 on foundation of the Public Authority for Assessment of Compensation for Damages resulting from the Iraqi Aggression (PAAC). It is the authority responsible for all aspects of the UNCC claims process in Kuwait. PAAC is an independent governmental body, subordinate only to the Cabinet.

1993 -- The UN Security Council unanimously approves resolution 833 on approval of the report of the specialist committee report on demarcation of Kuwaiti-Iraqi borders. It stated use of force is sanctions to guarantee non-violation of borders.

1994 -- Kuwait exports its first shipment of liquid ammonia, some 15040 metric tons, to India through National Petroleum Company docks in Industrial Shuaiba area. This came after reconstruction of the area and its facilities which suffered great damage as a result of the Saddam invasion and occupation of the state.

1996 -- Health Minister Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mhailan was elected as first deputy chairman of the executive council of the World Health Organization. The post is a one-year tenure.

2000 -- Literary and diplomacy figure Abdullah Srayye Al-Srayye passed away at the age of 66. The figure had authored plays, poetry volumes, and radio and television dramas and held the post of ambassador to Mauritania and to Sudan.

2001 -- Dr. Khaled Al-Mathkour was chosen to represent the State of Kuwait as member of the Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Islamic World League in Mekkah and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Jeddah.

2003 -- Qadsiyyah Sports club nabs Amir's 41st cup, the tenth time in its history.
