20-year-old Bahraini succeeds in first attempt

Bahraini Mohammad Adeel Ejaz has made a record of sorts by becoming the youngest student to pass the ACCA professional tests.

He was among the 10 toppers worldwide in CAT, scoring 85 per cent marks in one of the advance papers. The 20-year-old cleared his papers in first attempt. CAT comprises nine papers and ACCA 14.

"It was a tough journey to manage the workload and maintain the social life. But nothing is impossible," Ejaz says. He plans a career in auditing with a leading firms in Bahrain.

Of the 10 students who took the ACCA tests, majority were from Jawad Habib and Company Training centre which is a leading ACCA couching centre since 2003 with 100 percent pass result in the final core papers. The exams were held in June and the results were announced this month.

The centre offers CAT courses as CAT is the proper route to ACCA.

The other two leading firms that coach ACCA are Ernst and Young and the Bahrain Institute of Bahrain and Finance.

Association of Charted Certified Accountants, the world's largest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body, has over 296,000 students in 170 countries.

Students pursuing career in accounting and finance should acquire a professional qualification like ACCA or Certified Public Accountant.
