Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the Iranian nation is to create yet another epic in the true sense of the word today.
The Ayatollah made the remarks here Friday morning when he attended a balloting station to cast his votes for 11th presidential and the 4th City Council elections.
Ayatollah Khamenei said both officials and the nation are grateful to the Almighty for granting them another chance to be part of a move which is to determine the destiny of the country.
The Supreme Leader recommended all to take part in the elections.
The 11th presidential elections simultaneous with the 4th City Council elections started at some 60,000 polling stations nationwide Friday morning.
Some 51 million Iranians are eligible to vote in the presidential election.
The six candidates present in the list of presidential election are President of the Expediency Council's Center for Strategic Research Hassan Rohani, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili, Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei, Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati, and former Telecommunications minister Mohammad Gharazi.
Former Majlis speaker Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel and former First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref withdrew their candidacies earlier this week.
