SHARJAH: H. H Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah has honored the winners of the 9th edition of the Sharjah Award for Best PhD Dissertation on Administrative Science.

A ceremony was held at the Sharjah University (UoS) by the Secretariat General of the award in presence of H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al-Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and other Sheikhs and high ranking officials.

The winners are Dr. Abdullatif Bin Ibrahim Rashid Al-Hadhithi of Saudi Arabia and Dr. Mohammed Al-Zerekat of Jordan.

Chairman of the board of trustees of the Award Abdul Rehman Al-Jarwan, in a speech at the ceremony, said 300 researchers applied for this year's edition of the Award with dissertations at different Arab and foreign universities. Applications were submitted in the Award's three official languages, Arabic English and French, he noted.

This year's edition of the Award adopted an advanced assessment system based on the strictest criteria with a panel of world-class university professors of administration.

Hadhithi's dissertation at the Saudi's King Khaled University tackles the impact of web design and trends on electronic banking services in Saudi Arabia. Zerekat's dissertation at the Jordan's Yarmouk University tackles issues of finance, capital structure and cost etc.

Al-Jarwan thanked Sheikh Sultan for sponsoring and encouraging Arab researchers, adding that the honoring award "is a reward to new generation of Arab researchers to further continue researches in different fields".
