SFAX - Backers attending the international economic forum "Sfax vision 2020" held September 24-27, affirmed their trust in Tunisia and in the large opportunities provided in matters of investment and project creation.

"It has been decided to set up an office in Tunis for the first time in 2012 although our institution has been operating in Tunisia for 50 years" said Antoine Courcelle-Labrousse, resident representative of IFC (international financial company which backed Enfidha Airport).

He went on saying that since the revolution, 5 new investments have been allocated to Tunisia in addition to a series of programmes of technical advice and assistance started last January in matters of SMEs financing, microfinance, easing of administrative procedures, enterprise governance and business climate.

European investment bank representative for Tunisia Robert Feige said in turn that this bank, which has been operating in Tunisia for some 30 years, will keep on financing projects such as the survey for the Sidi Bouzid-Kasserine motorway, as well as private projects likely to be set up in technopoles and in the field of transport.

Bruce Leighton, an official of the European bank for reconstruction and development (BERD) and his representative in Tunisia, revealed for his part that the bank had carried out some 30 sector-based surveys for technical assistance in favour of Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco and Egypt.

"The new relationship with Tunisia, based on trust, has found expression in the recent financing of the first investment in Tunisia, namely Tuninvest", he added.

"Sfax vision 2020" forum is organised jointly by MBCI-Tunisia (Mediterranean Business Consulting International) and the chamber of Commerce and industry of Sfax.
