MUSCAT -- At a special ceremony held recently, Yukitoshi Funo, Executive Vice-President and Representative Director, Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan presented the Marketing Excellence Award to Shaikh Mohammed Saud Bahwan, Chairman -- Saud Bahwan Group. The award is in recognition of the Saud Bahwan Automotive's outstanding sales performance in 2009.
Speaking on the occasion, Yukitoshi Funo showered high praise on Shaikh Mohammed Saud Bahwan and his team. " Thanks to the strong leadership of Shaikh Mohammed Saud Bahwan, Saud Bahwan Automotive has exhibited a remarkable performance last year," he said. "Saud Bahwan Automotive has maintained its Number One position in Oman and achieved record sales for two consecutive years. Congratulations!" he added. "We were very glad and encouraged to hear this news because these record sales were achieved under challenging conditions, such as the global recession," he underlined.
"I believe that without your Chairman's leadership and his wise decisions on investing aggressively on new showrooms and service facilities, you couldn't have reached such a fantastic achievement. I would like to once again thank Shaikh Mohammed Bahwan for his strong leadership in continuing to advance the sales record, " Funo added.
Accepting the prestigious award, Shaikh Mohammed Saud Bahwan said, "I take this opportunity to gratefully acknowledge the close co-operation and excellent support extended to us by Toyota Motor Corporation, without which our achievements would not have been possible. I am particularly grateful to Funo and his team for their steadfast support and guidance at all times -- for which I convey my sincere thanks."
"This prestigious award means a lot to all of us at Saud Bahwan Automotive, Shaikh Mohammed Bahwan continued. "I humbly dedicate this award to all the Toyota customers in Oman, whose loyalty to the brand has made it the most admired brand in the country," he concluded. He also reiterated his commitment to continue investments in expanding and modernising Toyota's sales and after-sales infrastructure, human resource development and aggressive marketing.
Commenting on the challenges ahead he said, " 2010 is expected to be one of the most challenging years for Toyota Motor Corporation. However, I am confident that TMC's strong leadership, proactive actions and transparent approach will ensure that Toyota will emerge even stronger at the end of this challenging period." Later, Funo also visited various Toyota and Lexus facilities in Muscat. Visibly impressed at these state-of-the-art facilities, he was all praise for Saud Bahwan Automotive's uncompromising commitment to Customer Care.
