Islamabad - Spokesperson of a major political party on Tuesday viewed that sanctions have failed to stop Iran from achieving targets.

Talking to IRNA, spokesperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for defence issues Vice Admiral (retd) Javed Iqbal urged Muslim countries to support Iran against the western dominance.

Washington and its western allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.

Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population.

Javed Iqbal was of the view that sanctions is a tool used by so called superpowers to achieve their ulterior motives. "Act of imposing sanctions has no justification," the political leader pointed out.

The PTI leader went on to say that Iran is an ancient country and sanctions is not a new thing for them. "They have being facing sanctions for past many years very effectively," he noted.

"Sanctions always give new vigor to Iran," Vice Admiral (retd) Javed Iqbal viewed.

The political leader expressing his opinion said that proxy war against Iran must stop. He strongly believed that West is sowing the seed of discord among Muslim Ummah.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesperson said that capitalist forces are taking benefits from the difference of Muslims. "We must unite," he opined.

Javed Iqbal answering a query said that there are independent nations in the world which will not accept American pressure regarding oil purchases from Iran.

He said that it is the right of Iran to safeguard their security and independence. The politician stressed the need for further enhancing Pakistan Iran ties. "We need to promote our trade ties," added PTI leader.

Vice Admiral (retd) Javed Iqbal strongly condemned the attack on the bus of Shia pilgrims in Pakistan.

He said that international laws are biased but Iran has always been accepting, obeying and complying with international laws. "Iran is a law abiding member of international community," viewed the Pakistani politician.
