MUSCAT -- As part of the government's endeavours to implement development projects in the Sultanate, the Finance Ministry yesterday approved 17 agreements and a change order worth RO 108.9 million. The projects included the construction of a water supply network in the Niyabat of Al Jabal al Akhdhar worth RO 28.9 million, a cardiac disease unit at Royal Hospital to the tune of RO 25.9 million, construction of Yanqul-Fida-Dhank road in the Al Dhahirah Region (RO19.9 million) and a water supply network in the Wilayat of Al Duqm (RO 16.4 million).

The agreements approved also included drilling of wells, installation of pumps and construction of graded roads for the Agricultural Development Project in Dhofar Governorate at a cost of RO 2.25 million, providing technical support for the Applied Science Colleges in Sohar, Sur and Rustaq (RO 2.76 million), consultancy for designing works of the new general Muscat Hospital (RO.2 million) and technical support for the Applied Science Colleges in Salalah, Ibri and Nizwa (RO1.9 million).

The Finance Ministry also approved agreement for designing and construction of a gas line for Sohar Industrial Estate (RO 1.48 million), the expansion of water desalination plant in the Wilayat of Diba in the Musandam Governorate (RO 1.29 million), supply of medicines for the Health Ministry (RO1.74 million), construction of a metallurgy laboratory at Gala Industrial Estate (RO 969,000), operation and maintenance of Water desalination and a power generation plant at Munthar al Dhabyan and Al Mashash in the Dhofar Governorate (RO 849,000); consultancy services for the restoration of Izki-Firaq-Marfa' Falaj Daris-Al Ghafat road (RO 825,000), consultancy services for the water supply project for the Niyabat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar (RO 787,000), construction of Al Sa'adah School in the Wilayat of Salalah (RO 746,000), maintenance of the Sultanate's Mission headquarters in Brussels (RO 686,000) and the implementation of change order for supplying computers and accessories for the Ministry of Education schools.
