Oman Refreshment Company has reported a robust 114 per cent growth in net profit for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2011. Net profit surged to RO4mn from RO1.9mn in the corresponding period of the last year.

Buti Obaid al Mulla, chairman, in his report attributed growth in profit to marketing efforts and improved sales realisation. "Increased profit is mainly due to increased revenue along with efficiencies resulting out of various cost control and cost-optimisation measures ... Sales volume improved in the third quarter."

Revenue increased 23 per cent to RO41.2mn in the 2011 nine-month period compared with RO33.4mn in the corresponding period last year.

Mulla said the company is aware of the impact of competition in a price-sensitive local market and will focus on maintaining its market share as well as sales forecast for the year.
