All Kuwaitis must unite: Al-Jassar
KUWAIT CITY: "Political parties based on religious or sectarian grounds are not in the best interest of Kuwait as such parties can lead Kuwait to destruction", says Eng Jassar Al-Jassar, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Council and former assistant director of Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET).
"In Kuwait, we have our own Constitution and our democracy developed by late Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. We cannot compare our Constitution with any other constitution because it was set up exclusively for the people of Kuwait", he adds.
He also indicated that the political parties, which are established based on religion or sectarianism, are following foreign agendas.
Harming
"The local issues of Kuwait are harming its national unity from the outside. There is a minority working on implementing foreign agendas but majority knows the meaning and value of national unity in Kuwait. No individual can hold another accountable based on religion or skin color and so on, but we should hold each other accountable based on our love for Kuwait and our contribution to its development", insisted Al-Jassar.
Al-Jassar emphasized the unlimited confidence he has in the Kuwaiti people and said all Kuwaiti citizens must unite for the sake of their country and its development.
Al-Jassar revealed that he is optimistic about the next political phase, which he believes will be much better than the current one, adding, "The National Assembly should lighten up a bit and work on the existing gaps. Parliamentary questioning should be submitted to solve problems such as traffic congestion and not for personal whims or to show off in the media".
Meanwhile, Al-Jassar stressed his viewpoint of maintaining peace with the Jews due to the fact that the Messenger of Allah Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was the first to establish peace with the Jews, adding, "If this peace means achieving the public interest of my country without any wars, then I am in full support of it".
Eng Al-Jasser is a graduate of Bachelor of Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, and Marine Communication in University of Alexandria and was the head of the students union at the university.
Al-Jassar enjoys visiting popular cafes and playing football for leisure. His favorite singer is Mohammad Abdu especially his song 'Al-Amaken' (the places).
He considers his father and mother as a source of inspiration for him, as he learnt the values of life from them.
