eid demand
shortage of 98-grade
Motorists yesterday morning faced shortages of 98-grade unleaded petrol across Dubai.
Khalid Hadi, Director of Brand and Corporate Communication of Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc), told Gulf News that there is no shortage of supply in the 98-grade unleaded petrol at Enoc petrol stations.
However, he remarked that there is a lot of pressure on petrol stations as consumption has increased, especially during the Eid period.
“Today all people are back to work as well as buses are moving back to school.”
Hadi added that the fuel crisis in Sharjah which led to the closure of Enoc-owned filling stations there, has put more pressure on Dubai stations.
“While the consumption of Super petrol represents 5 per cent to 7 per cent of total fuel demand, Special-grade petrol accounted for up to 95 per cent.”
“Sometimes the fuel truck could take time to reach stations from Jebel Ali, but this is not a problem as supply is pre-arranged.”
