The percentage of the national workforce in government and private health institutions has increased by about seven per cent in 2020.

"The number of health care institutions in the Sultanate of Oman reached 1,587 in 2020, of which 64 per cent were private clinics. The proportion of the national workforce in government and private health institutions increased by about seven per cent, compared to 2016, according to the statistics of the Health Bulletin issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI),” Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

 

ONA added that spending on the health sector of the total government spending in the Sultanate of Oman reached 7.4 per cent in 2020, while the health sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product at current prices amounted to 3.9 per cent, as the sector contributed about OMR 954.1 million .
