MUSCAT - With the rising global demand for energy and strengthened efforts to explore new methods and technologies to boost oil production in the region, the need for avenues and venues to satisfy this demand is essential. MEALF 2011, the sixth edition of the Middle East Artificial Lift Forum, managed and organised by pioneer and foremost event management company Omanexpo alongside the event technical committee composed of distinguished professionals from the oil and gas industry, is set to be held from February 7 to 9 at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The three-day forum will highlight emerging technologies in oil recovery methods through pre-forum training workshops, a conference and an exhibition oil-related equipment, technology, and services. The training workshops will be conducted by training and development company Network of Excellence in Training (NExT) on February 7; while the technical sessions will be held from February 8 to 9.

The seminars will be chaired by technical experts from some of the region's largest oil companies. Over 20 technical specialists from the oil and gas sector will deliver presentations on heavy oil, surveillance and optimization as well as alternative deployments for electrical submersible pumps in oil fields.

"We are proud to say that this event is contributing much to elevating the standard of such technology and enhancing the credibility of artificial lift in the region. As only one of its kind in the region, it serves as a platform to attract international companies to invest in exploration and production projects, and to educate people on its importance of artificial lift systems and applications to the industry," said Nasser Diab, general manager of Omanexpo.
