MUSCAT -- As part of Oman Mobile's continued efforts to support and participate in different events in the Sultanate, Oman Mobile is the sponsor of International Jewellery Exhibition 2009 (IJEX), which begins at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from today. The 2009 IJEX exhibition, which runs until April 19 is organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Oman International Exhibition Centre (OIEC) and Samaexop from Bahrain.

The International Jewellery Exhibition is the first jewellery exhibition in the Sultanate, aimed at providing the rapidly expanding trade and to enrich related sectors ie direct selling to the GCC states and the regions, as well as it is the most important business venue ever created for the Gulf jewellers sector. IJEX is popular as it attracts large visitor turnouts to view various products and services such as platinum jewellery, fine jewellery, gold jewellery, silver jewellery, antique jewellery, diamond jewellery, gem-ser jewellery, precious stones, semi precious stones, fresh water and cultured pearls.

It will also include jewellery manufacturing, machinery, materials, tools and equipment, branded watches and clocks and complete watches and clocks. Oman Mobile is keen to interact permanently with the society through supporting its activities which is a part of its social responsibilities and its role as leading telecom company in Oman. Countries participating in the exhibition include Italy, India, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, The UAE, Thailand, Jordan, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, US, Myanmar and Oman.
