Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has floated international tenders to promote Oman as a tourist destination in some potential markets abroad.
The tenders state that "appointing a company to represent Oman as a tourist destination in Germany, Nordic countries, the Netherlands, India, and Italy.
The appointed companies will play a role to formulate and execute business development and media relations strategies and programs and more to attract tourists to visit the Sultanate of this market as a tourist destination attracting tourists from all over the world.
The company will support the implementation of marketing strategies and plans to attract foreign tourists to Oman.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism recently opened a tourism representation office for the Sultanate in China.
The office in China will serve as a link connecting visitors of Expo Dubai 2020 to tourism packages that include visiting the Sultanate during the Expo’s period.
The tourism representation office will play a role in raising the awareness of target Chinese visitors through campaigns aimed at promoting the Sultanate as a key tourism destination.
The office will also cement ties between local sector partners (companies and hotels) and their Chinese counterparts. It seeks to generate maximum benefits from the tourism sector. The office will establish long-range business relations that benefit both sides.
