MUSCAT -- Port Services Corporation (PSC) signed recently four contracts to purchase equipment for Port Sultan Qaboos as part of continuous strides towards upgrading the operational efficiency of the port. Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari, CEO of PSC, signed the agreements with representatives of respective companies supplying the new equipment. Arabian Car Marketing Company will supply and commission a 45-tonne Kalmar diesel reach stacker at the container terminal valued at RO 209,196, besides a 70-tonne mobile crane at a cost of RO 154, 864.

The third contract was signed with General Electronics & Trading Company for the supply of a Ferrari Ro-Ro tractor for the container terminal at a cost of RO 65, 425 while the fourth contract was signed with Saud Bahwan Projects & Equipment Company for the supply of two 5.5 tonne Komatsu crane at a cost of RO 43, 211. The new equipment will help achieve optimum efficiency and productivity, thus facilitating trade and developing the Sultanate's economy, a press release issued by PSC.
