DOHA: The Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of the Interior (MoI) organised two lectures recently at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, under the patronage and in the presence of the Minister of State for Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The first lecture was on the role of government agencies in the implementation of the National Development Strategy for 2011-2016, and the second one was on 'The strategy of modernisation and institutional development' for the heads of the committees and directors of departments at the MoI. The lecture attended by Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, Director General of Public Security, was delivered by Dr Awad Al Jeed Muhammed Ahmed, Director of Institutional Development Department at Secretariat for the Development Planning, while the second lecture was delivered by Prof Fatima Rashid Al Khater, the director of Planning and government policies Department at the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
Col Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, Director of Strategic Planning Department of MoI stressed on the importance of the strategy of the MoI and its goals, programmes, projects and executive plans.
In the first lecture, Dr Awad presented the role of ministries and governmental bodies and institutions in the implementation of the national development strategy for the year 2011-2016 and he emphasized on the necessity of planning for development in the country.
The second lecture was delivered by Prof Fatima Rashid Al Khater in which she explained the most important pillars of the strategy of modernisation and institutional development.
