Tunis - The Ministry of Transport denied reports by Libyan media on the launch of regular flights between the Tunis-Carthage airport and the Misurata airport via the Zouara airport, Libya.
The ministry said in a statement released Monday that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in Tunisia is still waiting to receive from the Libyan sides security documents required pursuant to the Convention on international civil aviation and agreed upon at a meeting held on September 10, 2014 with officials from the region and from the Zouara airport.
These documents will be evaluated prior to the organisation of a second meeting under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement an action plan and organise these flights.
The Ministry of Transport believes that "it is currently impossible to operate flights from Zouara airport pending obtaining necessary documents."
