DOHA: A total of 145, 985 people have subscribed to Metrash - one of the e-Services provided by Qatar's Ministry of Interior, according to a local Arabic daily.

Available for both nationals and expatriates, individuals and companies, Metrash is an SMS service which periodically alerts subscribers giving them advance warning on expiration of their residence permit, driving licence and vehicle registration.

It also sends SMS to subscribers regarding transfer of vehicle ownership and traffic violations. Those who undergo annual medical check-ups are also informed whether they have passed or failed the medical test.
