CARTHAGE (TAP) - Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki examined, on Thursday in the Carthage palace, the development situation in the governorate of Nabeul and the furtherance works of the implementation of public and large-scale projects, notably in the sectors of tourism, industry, agriculture and environment.

During a meeting with the representatives of the regional structures and the national organisations, the President of the Republic enquired about the difficulties impeding development in the region, as regards notably the landed situation and its impact on the achievement of public and private projects.

The representatives of the region claimed solutions to this problem given its negative impact on development in the governorate Nabeul and the other regions.

"The meeting was an occasion to discuss means to diversify the tourist trade, strengthen environmental and cultural tourism, in addition to the creation of new projects in the sector of non-polluting industries to preserve the tourist peculiarities of the region," Governor of Nabeul Abdessatar Toumi said.
