The media adviser to Prime Minister, Ali al-Moussawi announced on Thursday that Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki is not satisfied with the decision of the Martyrs Foundation not to consider leader Abd al-Karim Qasim as a "martyr".
Moussaoui wrote on the social networking page "Face Book" , briefed by "Shafaq News", that "The Prime Minister has been briefed on the decision not to consider the leader , Abdul Karim Qasim as a martyr by the Martyrs Foundation based on legal problems or else".
Al-Moussawi said that al-Maliki "expressed his dissatisfaction about it and wrote a request submitted to him from some fans of the late leader that it is not fair not to consider the leader , Abdul Qasim as a martyr," noting that al-Maliki "called to cancel this decision ".
A leaked document by the Special Committee at the Martyrs Foundation showed that it had canceled its earlier decision that considered the leader Qasim as a martyr.
Qasim was the first ruler after the Iraqi monarchy and contributed in leading a coup against the government and announced the establishment of the Republic of Iraq, he was known for his nationalism and his love for the poor in which he belonged.
