Emirates Red Crescent and Lulu Hypermarkets have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to sell charity merchandise at its stores in the UAE.
The MoU, signed by Dr Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, Secretary General of Emirates Red Crescent, and Yusuffali MA, Managing Director of Lulu Group, will see many products of Emirates Red Crescent selling at all of its stores.
Emirates Red Crescent run several humanitarian projects within and outside the UAE and the funding these philanthropic activities, collecting donations and selling some of the merchandises which are bought by the public to support Red Crescent.
It helps orphans, students, and people suffering from floods, earthquakes and other natural calamities around the world.
Emirates Red Crescent UAE has spent more than Dh6 billion in more than 100 countries, bringing joy and comfort to the lives of millions of people affected by natural calamities, poverty, wars and other tragedies.
The Red Crescent merchandise which will be available soon in Lulu hypermarkets will include caps, T-shirts, bags, lanterns, badges, wallets, etc. and they are priced moderately to get maximum support from people of different income group. Lulu said it will not take any profit margin from the sale of Red Crescent merchandise, but all the more than 100 Lulu stalls will sell these products to help the humanitarian ventures of Red Crescent.
Dr Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi said: "We want to involve more people from our community into the various charitable and humanitarian activities and this can best be achieved through reaching out to them. We have sourced some very useful and high quality products which will be liked by the large shopper's cosmopolitan population of UAE. By purchasing these products the local community will be contributing to the various initiatives of our world over."
