Erbil - The Kurdistan Region presidency will announce in the forthcoming days another part of the reform initiative started by President Massoud Barzani.
The first phase of the initiative includes a decision to regulate the allocation of land and the granting of licenses for investment projects, and a two month moratorium on allocation of most types of land for most projects, excepting some agricultural, industrial or tourism projects.
Another decision ordered to stop allocation of agricultural lands for 90 days, so that the government agencies can gather enough information over the illegal projects brokered in the past four years.
Fuad Hussein said working on the reform project is passing through a "good" stage and it will be expanded.
Legal experts will be presented with the legal aspects of the second phase, the agricultural experts, the agricultural aspects and each group of specialists with their expertise, he added.
"After all the amendments, the strategic reform project will be announced for the public," Hussein said.
Head of the High Committee of Reform in Kurdistan, Azad Ezzaddin, told AKnews the project is under study and it will not be delayed.
Since it is a comprehensive project, dealing with unemployment and general attorney and investment laws, all its aspects should be studied well before being announced.
