The Shabak component said on Thursday that President of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani has ordered to appoint guards of Shabak within Asaish guards and Peshmarga troops to protect their villages from terroristthreats.

The pace of attacks has worsened against Shabak component in Mosul city and Nineveh Plain in recent weeks resulting in many casualties among their ranks.

The organizations linked to al - Qaeda distributed threatening publications to kill Shabak people if not left their homes in Mosul.

"The threats and attacks on Shabak Kurds in Mosul is continues, stressing that " terrorists killed a few days ago Mokhtar (security official of an area ) of Shabak Kurds in Tameem area in Mosul," The official of the advisory board of Shabak , Salem Khader said in a statement received by "Shafaq News ".

Khadr demanded the central government and Kurdistan Regional Government to find a solution to protect Shabak Kurds and said that "their lives in Mosul province are in danger," he added.

A suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest blew himself up amid a funeral in Uorta Kharab village in mid of last September, killing 27 and wounding 30 Shabak people.

According to unofficial statistics , more than 20 Shabak people were killed since mid of last July in the northern city of Mosul , as well as the deaths of nearly 1280 Shabak citizen for sectarian reasons , in addition to displacement of 6000 Shabak family since 2003.

Khader said that Barzani ordered to appoint 10 to 15 guards for each Kurdish Shabak village which is estimated at 30 villages to be hired within Asaish and Peshmarga troops to protect their villages from attacks and threats of Islamic militants.

Khadr praised Barzani's decision saying that "we are happy from this step".
