AMMAN - Health Minister Saad Jaber on Sunday highlighted the Health Ministry’s keenness on boosting the preparedness of all its hospitals and medical facilities and providing them with qualified medical cadres to offer advanced medical services.

Jaber’s remarks came during a visit to Prince Hamzah Hospital, during which he checked on the expansion and modernisation of the emergency and intensive care departments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Highlighting the importance of the expansion in improving the services offered, Abdulrazaq Khashman, the hospital’s director, said that the new expansion includes increasing the capacity of the intensive care unit by 10 new beds and the capacity of emergency department by 50 new beds, in addition to providing the two departments with advanced medical equipment.

Khashman noted that the expansion is expected to be finished after Eid Al Fitr, as that the project is currently 80 per cent complete, Petra reported.
