AMMAN - Representatives from Jordan Enterprises Development Corporation (JEDCO) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Monday signed an agreement to implement the Kaizen project that aims at improving quality and productivity of small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), according to a statement by JEDCO.
JEDCO Chief Executive Officer Yarub Qudah said the project enables industrial institutions to improve their quality and productivity without necessarily obtaining finance and new invest?ents. Qudah added that the project helps in enhancing the process of interaction between the administrations and employees of the industrial and business organisations.
Chairman of JICA office in Amman Shigeru Okamato said the implementation phase of the Kaizen project is expected to start in October this year and it will last for more than two years. Kaizen refers to the Japanese strategy for continuous improvement. Kaizen strategy calls for never-ending improvement involving everyone in the organisation?- managers and workers alike.
