TEHRAN -- The Iran Power Development Company will offer an international tender for its second 3,000 MW project, the IPDC managing director said here on Sunday.

"The second 3,000 MW project entails the construction of seven new power plants in the cities of Semnan, Zanjan, Mahshahr, and Kermanshah," Mohammad Behzad explained.

"This year the Iran Power Development Company has a $2.1 billion budget. 50 percent of this amount will be financed by issuing bonds and using bank facilities," he added.

Behzad had previously stated that the Energy Ministry has negotiated with the Central Bank of Iran and Saderat Bank and has received necessary permits from the cabinet to issue power sector participation bonds.
