Abu Dhabi: To mark the school's golden anniversary, INSEAD, one of the world's leading international business schools, yesterday launched its Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) programme at its Abu Dhabi campus.
INSEAD, ranked number one in Forbes Magazine's 2009 list of schools offering Executive MBA programmes, will commence classes next year.
Professor Javier Gimeno, Dean of the EMBA programmes at INSEAD, said the GEMBA aims to draw working executives from across the region within a "three- to five-hour flying distance" as Abu Dhabi provides INSEAD a central location which leverages the schools' campuses in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Javier told Gulf News INSEAD's 50th anniversary presented an opportunity "to reflect on our past and plan for our future," with the institution's Abu Dhabi campus which was founded in 2007 and serves as a regional hub to develop their Executive MBA activities.
Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili said the emirates' partnership with the world's leading business school falls in line with a 10 year plan inclusive of strategies aiming to make Abu Dhabi a hub for higher education.
