MUSCAT -- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) -- Muscat Chapter is organising its 5th Annual International Seminar on May 30-31, at Shangri-La's Barr al Jissah Resort and Spa on the theme "Growth, Diversity, Peace -- The GDP Challenge". The seminar will be inaugurated by Dr Fuad Jaffer al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. This seminar is designed to bring out modern thought process and a possible bouquet of solutions to the challenges posed in the theme.
The seminar will also be addressed by eminent and erudite speakers including the president and vice president of ICAI who will share their wealth of knowledge under the chosen theme. The seminar will be organised as the 2nd GCC conference, with Chartered Accountants representing the GCC Chapters from Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The ICAI-Abu Dhabi Chapter had the privilege of hosting the first GCC conference last year in November 2012 and had the objective of bringing the Chartered Accountants and other finance professionals across the GCC Countries together and providing the platform for sharing the knowledge base generally and topics in specific that interests the Accounting and Finance professionals in GCC countries. This is in line with the ICAI's initiative of promoting international seminars in various parts of the world.
ICAI -- Muscat Chapter is sponsored by The College of Banking and Financial Studies and is set up under the m emorandum of understanding between The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi and The College of Banking and financial Studies, Sultanate of Oman and has the objective of providing continuing professional education to the members of the ICAI and this process of professional development is extended to the accountants and finance professionals of all nationalities. The chapter established in 2008 has over 400 members. The seminar will also be attended by distinguished Omani guests, businessmen and finance professionals from across the GCC Region and the members of ICAI from around the world.
