Muscat - The Muscat Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will hold its sixth annual international conference on the theme "Moving to a new world order - Role for finance professionals" at Shangrila Barr Al Jissah on May 30 and May 31, 2014.
The details of the international conference were announced by members of the managing committee of the ICAI Muscat Chapter at a press conference on Wednesday.
Anuradha Venkatkrishnan, chairperson - ICAI Muscat Chapter, said, "This conference is being held amidst the backdrop of robust economic growth in the region and will also deal with the important role of finance professionals, which is increasing in complexity and challenges. We are currently in a new world order with economic ups and downs. The objective of the conference is to highlight how finance professionals can help in taking social and economic segments to a new level."
H E Salim bin Abdullah al Salmi, the executive president of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) will be the chief guest at the event, where he will give a keynote speech and highlight the CMA's initiatives under the conference theme. H E J S Mukul, India ambassador to Oman, will be the guest of honour at the event and will also be a keynote speaker.
Anuradha said that the conference will include as many as 14 speakers from India, Oman and other GCC countries. The ICAI's newly elected president K Raghu will also be attending the conference and will highlight the initiatives taken by ICAI globally.
Anuradha added that finance professionals, CEOs and entrepreneurs from Oman and GCC are expected to attend the event. "We are expecting nearly 300 delegates at the event. The conference has interesting sessions related to the topic and many experts from Oman, the rest of the Gulf and India are expected to attend and share their thoughts and experiences."
