MUSCAT: Hydrotec International unveiled Oman's first indigenous recovery unit, specially manufactured for Galfar Engineering and Contracting, at a glittering function recently.

The launch has been hailed as an achievement in the local hydraulics industry that has so far been importing recovery vehicles from Europe.

Speaking on the occasion, the managing director of Hydrotec International said, "It is our commitment to ensure the people of Oman never lack in the availability of any modern hydraulic components compared to other countries. This recovery unit is made in Oman, for Oman, and by the people of Oman. We are proud to declare that Hydrotec's purpose built workshop can now manufacture affordable and customised recovery units from start to finish."

Tough towing jobs

The recovery unit supports a wide range of bodies and chassis mounted equipment and is built to handle a wide range of tough towing jobs and recoveries of vehicles such as oil tankers, tipper trailers, flat bed trailers, water tankers, prime movers, buses and other vehicles.

The radio remote control unit built into Recovery ensures fast and safe towing and recovery for smooth and safe operations. "This is an amazing achievement. It is a proud moment for the local industry," said an enthusiastic delegate.
