The second stage of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Seha, which aims to cover all Qatari nationals is operational from today.
The scheme will provide Qatari nationals of all ages, both men and women, with comprehensive insurance coverage for the full range of basic health services through a network of public and private providers. The current network of service providers from the public sector include Hamad General Hospital (HGH), Women's' Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital and Cuban Hospital.
Private sector operators included in the network are Al Emadi Hospital, Doha Clinic Hospital and Al Ahli Hospital and polyclinics including Al Hayat Medical Centre, Al Jazeera Medical Centre, Al Ahmadani Medical Center and six branches of the Doha Healthcare Group. More providers will continue to be added to the network and updated lists will be available on the Seha website.
Coverage includes both in-patient and out-patient services, including preventative care, emergency treatment, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, long-term care, radiology, ophthalmology, laboratory testing and prescription medicines. Dental services coverage is expected to begin in June this year. The full schedule of benefits is available on the website of Seha.
To make use of Seha's services, Qatari nationals need to present their ID when visiting a network provider. They must provide details of their residential address during their first visit. The residential details can be found on the plate installed by the Centre for Geographical Information System (CGIS) on all buildings across the country.
Information and updates on the scheme are available at the Seha website www.seha.qa and through social media at facebook.com/SehaQatar and twitter.com/SehaQatar. Members may also contact the Seha call centre on telephone 4020 8444 or visit the customer contact centre.
