Dubai, Feb.6th,2008 (WAM) -- The region?s first dedicated conference for Optometrists and mid-level eye care providers is set to attract international experts when it runs this February alongside Vision-X Dubai, the region?s premier exhibition for the optical and ophthalmic industry.

In the Middle East the profession of Optometry, the healthcare science related to vision, visual systems and vision information processing, has expanded in line with population growth, organisers said.

The only specialised optometry conference in the region, the Vision-X Dubai Conference will run from 19-20 February 2008 at Dubai International Conventional and Exhibition Centre. Co-organisers Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the Emirates Medical Association Ophthalmic Society (EMAOS) are confident that they will help expand the educational opportunities available to practitioners working in this area.

The dedicated conference is held alongside Vision- X Dubai 2008 the region's premier business exhibition for the optical and ophthalmic industry. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre the event will take place from 18-20 February 2008.

Last year, the trade and specialist exhibition welcomed 155 exhibitors from 27 countries and delivered 2,683 trade professionals eager to source the latest products and services.
