TUNIS - Minister of Foreign Affairs Mongi Hamdi received, on Wednesday, true copies of credentials of the new ambassadors of Jordan Aoued Khaled Sarhan and Uruguay with residence in Cairo Augustin Milton Espinosa-Lloveras.

Mongi Hamdi reiterated Tunisia's commitment to strengthen the Tunisian-Jordanian co-operation, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

For his part, the Jordanian diplomat stressed the "strong ties binding the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, reiterating the importance that the King of Jordan gives to the relations with Tunisia.

He also commended the Tunisian democratic transition experience, expressing confidence in the success of the upcoming elections.

The two sides also highlighted the need to hold the 8th session of the Tunisian-Jordanian High Joint Committee in early 2015 in order to revive bilateral co-operation.

Mongi Hamdi emphasised the need to speed up the holding of the Tunisian-Uruguayan high committee meeting to prospect new opportunities of economic and technical partnerships between the two countries.

The Uruguayan diplomat commended the democratic transition experience in Tunisia and expressed his country's will to strengthen the bilateral relations.

He suggested, in this context, the appointment of a Honorary Consul of Uruguay to Tunisia.
