KUWAIT: The Kuwait telecom market is booming. People like to buy the latest models of mobile phones. The nice and good-looking design is a must for the majority who intend to get a new mobile. On the other hand, after sale service is also an important issue for the customer.
EXA Telecom, the retail telecommunications division of The Alghanim Sons Group, announced the successful signing of a mobile phone distribution agreement with LG Electronics, Inc, a leading worldwide provider of advanced wireless handsets and accessories yesterday at the Marina Hotel.
The deal heralds a new era in EXA Telecom's development towards becoming the premier provider of mobile telephone products and services in Kuwait. "We are delighted that this deal has come to fruition so quickly, marking the concerted effort by both organisations to reap the benefit of the burgeoning telecommunications market in Kuwait," said Marzooq Adel Alghanim, Deputy Chairman for The Alghanim Sons Group.
The deal will secure a strategic relationship between the Alghanim Sons Group and LG Electronics, marking a new era of close cooperation and tactical market growth for the partners in Kuwait.
The distribution agreement covers the rights for EXA Telecom to operate both as a wholesaler and retailer of the full range of LG Electronics mobile telephone products and services in this market. Recent offers include the latest stylish mobile phone experience, known as the "Chocolate" phone, and the glamorous "Shine" model, both of which are already enormously popular in international markets.
"The Kuwait market is growing. LG intents to support this growth. We are excited to partner with The Alghanim Sons Group, whose established retail network and focused telecommunications division will enable us to further penetrate what is already an advanced market," said C H Lee, president of LG Electronics Gulf FZE.
Customers care about the after-sale service. "LG's renowned mobile devices contain leading edge technological features that make it a pleasure for users to stay connected while on the move. Thus the additional value proposition comes from local partners providing special pre and post sales support," he added.
EXA Telecom operates the largest mobile telephone store in the Middle East, situated in the City Centre hypermarket in Souk Salmiya. With this landmark agreement EXA Telecom will be the only supplier to offer the full LG Mobile product portfolio in Kuwait.
EXA Telecom will also establish an authorised LG service centre to provide expert and timely after sales service to clients. Kuwait customers will now be able to benefit from locally based services, provided by highly qualified staff rather than having to send their handsets overseas - thereby speeding up the service process significantly.
Having good business partner is a great part of the success. "We at EXA Telecom are proud of the growth achieved by this division of The Alghanim Sons Group. We have already introduced high standards of customer service levels based on international best practice," stated Mohammed Naimat, Managing Director of EXA Telecom for The Alghanim Sons Group.
"This distribution agreement will enhance our position as the telecommunications and accessories provider of choice in Kuwait," he concluded.
The new LG Shine mobile phone is not in the market yet. The reporters were not able to get the exact price of this phone. Thus Naimat stated that all the LG mobile phones models range between KD 15-160.
The Alghanim Sons Group was founded by Adel Yacoub Alghanim and under his leadership, the group has become a profitable and diversified conglomerate. The organisation is uniquely positioned to provide quality leadership, support and market knowledge for its diverse businesses within Kuwait and internationally.
EXA Telecom is a division of the Alghanim Sons Group wholly focused on providing leading telecommunications products and services to consumers across the region. The division has rapidly developed the largest telecom store in the Middle East, located in the Kuwait's City Centre hypermarket in Souk Salmiya and has ambitious expansion plans.
Established in 1958, LG Electronics, Inc. (LG) is a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, home appliances and mobile communications, employing more than 82,000 people working in over 110 operations including 81 subsidiaries around the world.
