Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID) has launched its new e-form for national ID card registration at more than 531 typing centres across the UAE. The old form has become invalid from yesterday (Sunday).
Emirates ID clarified that the new e-form consisting of 21 digits (starting with 8002) is available on its website www.emiratesid.gov.ae and the approved typing centres. A list of the approved offices is available on its website.
Emirates ID indicated that applicants can visit its website to apply for the ID card by filling up the new e-form in 10 simple steps that will take less than 10 minutes. By using the online form, applicants can save Dh 30 fees they pay to the typing centre.
The authority said that typing centres are allowed to use the new e-form only after obtaining its permission, failing to do so, will invalidate the application and the typing centre will be held accountable. In the first phase of the project, 131 typing centres were approved in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah last month. With the new approved typing centres, the total number of approved centres has reached 531 offices.
