Cairo: EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GE Aviation.

Under the MoU, GE Aviation will provide consultancy support for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of EgyptAir’s CFM56-7B, according to a statement on Sunday.

“EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering is the only full-service maintenance, repair and overhaul provider in Egypt and serves more than 120 customers around the world,” the company’s chairman and CEO Mostafa Ali El-Din Imam said, noting that the company “added CFM56-7B MRO capabilities to [its] Cairo-based shop, and it has been approved under EASA part-145.”

It is noteworthy that GE’s partnership with EgyptAir extends for more than 40 years.
