RIYADH — The third and last semester of the current school year will start on Sunday, March 12, in all regions and governorates of Saudi Arabia.

The semester will include two long holidays. The Eid Al-Fitr holiday will start on the 22nd of the holy month of Ramadan, corresponding to April 13, and end on the 6th of Shawwal (April 26).

Schools will close for the second holiday on Thursday, 5th of Dhul Qaada (May 25), and will include Friday and Saturday (the usual weekend), in addition to Sunday and Monday, 8-9 of Dhul Qaada (May 28-29).

The third semester will be for 14 weeks, with 65 actual school days.

This is the second year in a row in which the Ministry of Education has implemented the three-semester system, replacing the two-semester system that was in force in general education.
