DUBAI -- The Dubai gold jewellery industry is set to market locally manufactured jewellery in the global market via newly formed working committee.
The working committee yesterday, announced the participation of World Gold Council, Diamond Trading Company (DeBeers), Gold Field Mineral Services Limited and other leading mining organisations. The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group announced yesterday a contribution of $1 million towards global Jewellery marketing, while concluding 3rd Dubai City of Gold Conference 2005
Tawhid Abdullah, chairman, Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, said: "There is a need for common consensus and there is willingness from all sides. We invite others to assume leadership to capitalise individual resources. It has to be a common effort and general commitment from all partners. This committee will develop a Global Strategy, which uses our collective resources to create a campaign and a positioning that builds a relevant as well as an appealing image to younger audiences and modern consumers. The committee chaired by Dr. Paul Walker, CEO, Gold Field Mineral Services Limited (GFMS) stated that it will help position the category to achieve future growth by effectively positioning jewellery against other lifestyle options.
