Dubai All efforts are on to make the first three One-day matches affordable and accessible for the cricket fans. The Dubai Sports City (DSC), the owners of the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, has made the ticket rates affordable.
Speaking to Gulf News, Maqbul Dudhia, the DSC general manager sports business, said: “To ensure that matches are affordable for the fans, ticket rates are starting from Dh25. Matches also start from 3pm. Of three One-dayers two are being held on Fridays making it as fan-friendly as possible.”
Search for biggest fan
Dudhia also revealed that they have launched a hunt for Dubai’s “Sabse Badaa Fan” [biggest fan]. “The fan who earns that title will get two premium tickets for the third One-dayer on November 18. He will also receive a cap signed by both teams’ captains.
For this all that the fans have to do is to text either PAK or SL to 4720 and the person who sends the most SMSs before midnight on November 15 will earn the honour.
“The winner of the competition will be announced on November 16 and will receive the signed cap during the dinner break. Standard messaging rates apply and the more texts a person sends, the more chance they have of being crowned Dubai’s Biggest Fan,” he said.
The organisers have also made provision for Friday prayers close to the stadium.
